EnMAP - the first German Hyperspectral Sensor in Space
The major goal of the Hyperspectral-Satellitenmission EnMAP (Environmental Mapping Analysis Program) is to investigate a broad range of the eco system of the Earth's land surface. The hyperspectral instrument measures the reflected sun light from the Earth in the range from visible light to shortwave infrared. These measurements shall enable scientists to make precise assessments of the state and changes of the Earth surface. The satellite shall be launched in 2021, the mission is planned to last at minimum 5 years.
