Characterisation of Adhesives at High and Cryogenic Temperatures (ESA)

For the determination of material properties of adhesives at high as well as cryogenic temperatures within the scope of the related ESA programme (ESA Programm) several test were performed:

• Temperatures: 77k (cryostat, LN2 cooling) , 80°C (thermal chamber)
• Selection of adhesives for the test campaign
• Specification of test procedure, standards and specimen geometry
• Development of test setup and measurement system configuration
• Tests:
  • Shear tests
  • Tensile tests
