Vibration, Shock and Impact Testing

It is of crucial importance to design aerospace products considering the ability to withstand mechanical shocks and dynamic forces. Understanding how shocks and vibration propagate along a structure is vital to protect sensitive components und ensure structural integrity.

Shocktesting

Shock and dynamic responses are predicted by similarity-heritage extrapolation or with numerical analysis. For testing we perform sample preparation and shock tests at our test facility as well as shaker tests in collaboration with external partners. Near and far field shocks are produced by various means like dropping-mass, hammer or pyro actuated gun.

Repeatability is ensured and tuning is done with mass dummies. With our experience of sensory, data acquisition and knowledge about the data to be expected, we can verify the sensor data and deliver reliable and repeatable results. To verify the robustness of components sensitive to shock and dynamic loads as early as possible during the design phase we also design, manufacture and test mock-ups.
